The 122 Foot & Ankle Pad and the 131 Foot & Calf Pad are two of our most popular pads. Both pads are available in our Clinical and Express At-Home product lines. Both can be used on the lower legs and feet. There are lots of similarities between the two pads, but there are key differences that might make you decide to buy one over the other.

What’s the Difference Between Each Light Therapy Pad?

Although they have a lot in common, there are a couple of key differences between the Foot & Ankle pad and the Foot & Calf pad. The first difference is the number of diodes in each pad. The Foot & Ankle Pad has 122 red and infrared diodes, while the Foot & Calf Pad has 131 red and infrared diodes. This means the Foot & Calf has a little bit more power than the Foot & Ankle. Check out the table below for a side-by-side comparison of the two red light therapy pads:

Red Light Therapy Pad Design

One of the main differences between the Foot & Ankle and the Foot & Calf Pad is the pad placement. Both the Foot & Ankle Pad and the Foot & Calf Pad can be worn on the lower body/feet. However, the Foot & Ankle Pad has a dual use pad design. The Foot & Ankle Pad can be worn two different ways.. The pad can be used lengthwise along the calf and under the foot or wrapped around the foot and ankle like a shoe. The Foot & Calf Pad can only be worn lengthwise along the calf. See below for our photo examples of different red light therapy treatments.
